Study Mode
Students may adopt any one (or all) of the study modes offered by academy3.
Each student is supported throughout the process by a personally assigned mentor who will respond promptly – within one working day – to any academic or administrative enquiry, no matter how trivial.
Online & interactive
Our Certificate IV in Marketing learning bundle has been developed and tested through close consultation with international experts, industry representatives and peak professional associations. We go beyond the online picture book to deliver highly engaging, multimedia content that intentionally complements every learning style.
Your core learning resources are available 24/7 in a secure cloud, and dynamically updated as you progress through your course. For online learning you will require a computer or portable media device (such as a tablet or mobile phone) with a wi-fi or internet connection. Images and animations are also optimised for minimum file size, meaning that learners with bandwidth limitations are not disadvantaged.
Online knowledge development is an interactive experience, as students are encouraged to submit drafts and work-in-progress to their tutor on the path to final assessment. Your mentor will consider each assessment task in the context of your specific industry sector and/or organisation and make adjustments or contextualise as necessary.
Support enquiries are also systematically reviewed and acted upon as part of our own process of continuous improvement. Students who are inactive in the online environment for an extended period will be contacted and offered direct support.
Workplace integration
Where possible, each learner will be assigned a workplace partner (or partners) by their employer. This person will assist you in applying your knowledge in a variety of real and simulated workplace scenarios. The workplace partner will also provide feedback on your progress to your mentor, and may – if suitably qualified – assist in the assessment of competency.
In this event, academy3 will first ensure that the workplace partner understands that they are confirming they have observed you performing the tasks associated with the elements, performance criteria, critical aspects for assessment and required skills in an efficient manner consistently and over a period of time. They also need to record the context in which the learner was observed and detail any evidence that has been provided.
For more information on workplace partnerships, please visit our corporate services page.
Fast Track
If you have already worked in the area you want to study, either paid or as a volunteer, the skills you’ve developed are probably very valuable. You may have done other studies that include similar subjects, here or overseas. Even some of your hobbies and interests might include relevant skills.
To be recognised, you need to prove you are already competent in that study area. If you have just left school, don’t do part-time work or have many interests, you may not be a candidate for skills recognition. If you are an older person with a wide range of successful work and study experiences, you are probably a very strong candidate.
If your skills can be “recognised” (ie mapped to unit and course criteria), you may be able to shorten the length of time for your studies. In some cases, you may get 100 per cent recognition of your qualification, meaning you would not have to study at all.
Visit here for more information on our fast track program.
Access and equity
An individual’s access to the assessment process should not be adversely affected by restrictions placed on the location or context of assessment beyond the requirements specified in the training package. Reasonable adjustments can be made to ensure equity in assessment for people with special needs.
Adjustments include any changes to the assessment process or context that meet the individual needs of the person with a special need, but do not change competency outcomes. Such adjustments are considered reasonable if they do not impose an unjustifiable hardship on a training provider or employer.
When assessing people with special needs academy3 mentors apply good practice assessment methods with sensitivity and flexibility. Assessors can also provide alternative assessment activities to address identified specific enterprise requirements.
Inclusions
The academy3 Certificate IV in Marketing is a practical, hands-on journey that emphasizes the importance of dynamic and collaborative problem solving. Importantly, there are no extra texts, administration surcharges, penalties, or hidden taxes to be seen. We instead add value through a resource offering that is second to none, with a 7 day money back guarantee.
Your Certificate IV in Marketing includes:
- Interactive lectures, with full notes available.
- The official MS Office 2010 eLearning program.
- Unlimited, on-demand, expert mentor support.
Start / Finish
Academy3 does not make you wait until a fixed date, such as the start of a semester (or even the start of a workshop), before allowing you to commence your course. Study can begin as soon as your enrolment is processed, usually within 24 hours!
At that time, you will be provided with access to the virtual learning environment that will be the centre of your study experience. Critically, we do not lock you out of, or drip feed, enrolled units – you have full access to everything from day one, and may plan your own study progression.
Assessment
Each unit in this qualification is continually assessed by short activities as you progress through the course. Your mentor will give you detailed feedback on each item. If he or she feels that you are not yet competent in an area, then you will be advised on how you can improve your work for reassessment. There is no limit to the number of times you may reattempt an assessment task – we will stick with you until you get it right!
We also encourage you to look for answers beyond the scope of the learning material, either from within your own experience, your workplace, or on the web. This will make for a richer learning experience and a more fulfilling progression through the course.
All students are encouraged to discuss and customise the assessment requirements of each unit with their mentor before they commence.
Assessment methods we employ can include any mix of:
- Written assignment
- Multiple choice questions
- Short answer questions
- Case studies
- Research / workplace project
- Workplace assessment
- Observation
- Work samples
- Role-play
- Simulation
- Interview
- Questions
- Scenarios
- (Third party) testimonials
Successful completion of the assessment tasks will demonstrate to us (and your present and future employers) that you have the ability to apply the theory you have learnt to practical workplace scenarios. Note that although assessment tasks are made easier if you are employed in a workplace, those without this opportunity may complete the course as long as they have sufficient access to a workplace environment to facilitate learning and demonstrate competence.
The mentors at academy3 are people who have significant practical experience, are accredited as an adult educator, and enjoy esteemed membership in relevant professional associations. All email enquiries are responded to within one business day, and the turnaround for assessment feedback is usually the same.
Completion
The other advantage that academy3 offers over alternate training providers, is that we do not believe in due dates, completion deadlines or course expiry. In other words, you do not need to make excuses or beg our forgiveness – many colleges will even charge you a fee for this humiliation – if circumstances conspire to delay or postpone your study. Work steadily, intermittently or furiously towards your qualification: the only date recorded on your testamur is the one you proudly finish on!
At any time throughout course you may also request a Statement of Attainment, which is formal recognition of the units that you have completed. Note that there are no intermediate qualifications available for early exit from this course. Nonetheless, each unit that you complete is fully recognised and transferable for credit within the Australian Vocational Education system.
After achieving the Certificate IV in Marketing candidates may undertake the Diploma of Management or another of our related qualifications.
Previous Study
There are no entry requirements for this qualification. Preferred pathways for candidates considering this qualification include:
- BSB30107 Certificate III in Business or other relevant qualification/s; or
- vocational experience in assisting marketing team leaders, supervisors or managers to conduct marketing communication activities but without formal marketing qualification
Upon enrolment, students are given a reasonable opportunity to review and self-assess their capacity to complete the course. Within this orientation period, students may unconditionally withdraw from the course without academic or financial penalty (ie a full refund).
International students
As this course is delivered and assessed in English, students who reside in a country where English is not the primary language, and others for whom English is a second language, are expected to have English language competence as a pre-requisite to enrolment. They can demonstrate this by providing evidence that they have completed an English language proficiency exam to the Australian government’s skilled migration standard for Vocational English.
Cost
The cost per unit is $390.
Units can be purchased at any time, meaning that you are never locked into direct debit or interest bearing repayment contracts. This price is inclusive of all administrative, training and assessment (including version upgrades), and taxation charges – there is nothing more to pay for the life of your enrolment, regardless of how long you take.
Purchasers of three or more units in a block receive a 10% discount. The effective cost of the entire course by this method would be $3,510.
Fast track options may significantly discount this price. Because each circumstance is unique, we can only give you a formal quote after you have had a chat with one of our friendly assessors. In most circumstances, though, you pay nothing until the assessment process is complete.
Corporate and group discounts also apply – please contact us for more information.
The Certificate IV in Marketing may also be fully supported by the Australian Government’s Traineeship scheme. This program covers the full cost of training to eligible applicants, and in some circumstances return a cash dividend to their employer.
All prices are in Australian dollars.
