Nationally Recognised Training

academy3 is accredited by the Australian government to deliver, via eLearning, the Certificate and Diploma courses advertised on this website.

The Australian Vocational Education and Training (VET) system is recognised as among the most sophisticated in the world because it is:

  • Industry led – employers and industry representatives define what outcome is required from training.
  • National – the system is jointly managed by state, territory and Australian governments.
  • Client focused – it is flexible and relevant and responsive to client needs.

The Australian Qualifications Framework

The AQF defines all nationally recognised qualifications. It provides a single framework for all qualifications from Senior Secondary Certification to PhD. Within the VET sector the following qualifications can be issued:

Under the AQF, the achievement of a group of competencies leads to the attainment of a VET qualification.

Visit the AQF website for more information regarding AQF qualifications.

The Australian Quality Training Framework

The Australian Quality Training Framework 2010 (AQTF 2010) is the national set of standards which assures nationally consistent, high-quality training and assessment services for the clients of Australia’s vocational education and training system. It consists of two sets of nationally agreed standards:

  • AQTF 2010 Essential Standards for Registration
  • AQTF 2010 Standards for State and Territory Registering Bodies

The adherence by training providers and registering authorities to these two standards will ensure nationally consistent, high quality training and assessment services for clients of the VET system.

Registered Training Organisations

Training organisations must meet AQTF 2007 standards to become registered. Academy3 is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 60154). RTOs are recognised as providers of quality assured and nationally recognised training and qualifications. Only RTOs can use the nationally recognised training logo (the logo on this page) on all qualifications and statements of attainment they issue. The logo is a valuable marketing tool which signifies:

  • the training courses are accredited under the Australian Quality Training Framework
  • the qualifications issued are recognised by all other RTOs.

This means students will be confident the skills they attain are of a high quality and accepted and valued anywhere in Australia. It also allows students to enrol, transfer or complete their training at any RTO, nationwide.

A training organisation that is not registered may offer training but cannot issue nationally recognised qualifications.

National Recognition

National recognition is the cornerstone of the Australian Quality Training Framework. All states and territories must recognise RTOs registered by other states and territories and all RTOs must recognise AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by other RTOs. This national recognition of RTOs and qualifications enhances mobility in the labour market.
